Creek & River (C&R) will hold a seminar on Thursday, November 16 , “Japanese Language Self-Study Tips that Use Language Acquisition Principles” ~Introduction of recommended Japanese learning materials and websites by purpose~
Participants:For people studying Japanese at a Basic and Pre-Intermediate Level

In this seminar, we will introduce recommended sites and materials to help you study Japanese on your own, for those who want to improve their Japanese level, but don’t know how.

Have you ever faced the problem of wanting to learn Japanese but not knowing where to start, or having a general understanding of basic Japanese but not knowing what to do next?

In this session, we will return to the essence of how we learn new languages and introduce recommended study methods, materials, and websites based on this. In the second half, we will introduce recommended teaching materials and sites for each purpose, specifically for those who want to learn Japanese grammar and words, or improve individual skills such as reading, listening, speaking, and writing. Also, based on our knowledge of second language acquisition, we will also provide you with tips on how to proceed with your learning efficiently.

This seminar will introduce sites and study methods for students at the N3-N5 level.
Everyone can further raise their Japanese level by using sites and teaching materials that suit their own goals and studying on their own.

Presenter

Rei Kamiya
Kamiya-sensei has been interested in languages since high school and majored in Spanish at university, aiming to teach Japanese after studying abroad. After passing the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test in 2019, she began working as a part-time lecturer at a Japanese language school in Nagoya, where she oversaw technical intern trainees and helped many students get work in companies.
After graduating from university, she studied Japanese grammar acquisition as a second language at Nanzan University Graduate School and wrote her master’s thesis. When she was in school, she also taught online Japanese language supplementary classes at an American university.
After completing her master’s course, she oversaw corporate sales at a major manufacturer. Currently, while teaching Japanese to businesspeople and students, she is also actively producing information on Japanese grammar and teaching methods.
