We are looking for a generalist engine programmer to become part of our next exciting project. While our researcher team will be focusing on developing new character AI technologies, the generalist game engine programmer is responsible for maintaining and extending our engine real-time systems and pipelines, with a special focus on Animation and AI.
The ideal candidate should have a general understanding of modern engines and their various subsystems. The ideal candidate should play well in our diverse team, be curious of new technology and be able to deliver robust solutions in a timely manner.
・Develop and maintain existing systems in our engine
(Animation, Graphics and AI in particular).
・Design, prototype and implement new animation, AI and, graphics features.
・Monitor performance and memory budgets. Debug and optimize as needed.
・Support the product team by making sure their tools and pipelines are stable and effective.
・Support integration of new specialized modules or middleware
(AI, 3D, sound, physics, editor, etc..).
・3+ years in game production and/or game engine development.
・Excellent knowledge of C++.
・Strong 3D math background.
・Knowledge of game engine architecture and algorithms.
・Solid understanding of character pipeline tools.
・Experience working with and supporting a team of various disciplines.
・Ability to communicate well in English and Japanese.
・Development experience with game consoles.
・Experience in solving animation and character related problems.
・Experience developing or working with animation blend graphs, real-time IK, position-based dynamics, etc.
・Experience with game engine renderers.
Salary commensurate with experience and ability with due consideration, the company provides employees preferential pay regardless of age according to our company's regulations. ※While a contract allows for the shift to a full-time position, it does not guarantee it. Several factors, including personal performance and company need, will be taken into consideration when recommending a contract employee for a full-time contract.
The working time system is flextime. So allocation of work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks is left to the discretion of the employee.
※Salary calculations are based on deemed fixed working hours of 9.5 hours.
※There is no designated overtime.
